The Sound Of Everything is not a record label in the classical sense but it is rather an umbrella under which all contemporary sounds can be represented.
Marketing-wise this decision of course is risky and it lacks a solid identity which can be the flagship of a company. Furthermore it involves the risk of creating a confusion to audience and distribution network.
Hence when the label was founded in 2004 we created the concept of "label series" (a concept similar to a sublabel). Each of our releases belonged to a separate label series and each label series was operated independently of one another in terms of repertoire, distribution and promotion and was possibly aimed to completely different markets and audience groups. In simple words our label series could be used as a consumer and 'file-under' guide.
However after 5 years of active presence we feel that our audience has accepted and appreciated our versatile choices in our repertoire and we believe that we have managed to turn the lack of a particular identity in our sound into a form of identity itself. Representing a vast range of music genres has now become our trademark. Hence we decided to abandon the concept of label series and all of our releases will now be labelled as The Sound Of Everything without further classification.
These are our previously used label series:
UNIDE AUDIO series: [uni-d-e: "universal" - "dance" & "electronica" - pronounced like "unite"] Presenting our international dance and electronica catalogue.
HELLECTRONIC series: [hell-ectronic: "hellenic" & "electronic"] Presenting the nu breed and the up-and-coming producers of the Greek electronic and dance scene.
FO.NO. UNDERGROUND series: [fo-no underground: for now underground] Presenting our alternative / leftfield / freestyle repertoire.
JAZZMENTUM series: [jazzmentum: "jazz" & "momentum"] Presenting our jazz, nu-jazz and nu-funk repertoire.
ESSENTIA SONUS series: [essentia sonus: "essence" & "sound" in latin] Presenting our easy listening, classical crosover and world music repertoire.
BMP series: [b-m-p: branded music projects] Presenting special releases which are customized for a brand. E.g. compilations under the name of a club.
NU:GR series: [nu-gr: "new" & "greek"] Presenting a new style of Greek repertoire with an electronic twist. Electronic music, with global sound, dance or chill oriented, but with Greek lyrics. |
